Welcome to Inside Access

 

Inside Access delivers free legal services and advocacy to imprisoned persons in Victorian adult and forensic correctional facilities.

 

Inside Access seeks to contribute to an improved justice system for incarcerated people with mental illness through the delivery of legal education, advice and casework.  It is clear that access to appropriate and timely legal services supports clients to more easily reintegrate into the community on release.

 

Inside Access seeks to effect positive change in the Victorian legal environment by advocating for systemic change in areas relevant to prisoners with mental health issues.

 

We are thankful for the generous support of the Phyllis Connor Memorial Trust, the William Buckland Foundation and the Centre for Innovative Justice at RMIT which has enabled Inside Access to continue its important work responding to the increasing demand for civil legal advice and advocacy as well as legal education for prisoners with mental illness.
